FRESH from Austin Stacks victory over Dr Crokes less than 24 hours before, the clubhouse in Connolly Park played host to the launch of RTE’s 2015 All Ireland championship coverage.
Sports presenter Marty Morrissey was at the helm, ably supported by legend of Kerry football, Tomás Ó Sé, along with ex Galway player, Padraig Joyce and regular Sunday Game panellist Kevin McStay.
Austin Stacks chairman, Aidan O’Connor, was delighted to welcome RTE to the clubhouse.
“It’s a privilege for our club to be the hosts for this fabulous event,” said Aidan.
“We have had a great year, we’ve now bought a new pitch and we’re developing it. It’s great to have all the members putting their shoulder to the wheel. When you look at the fan marches that we’ve had, the whole community are getting involved I’m just privileged to be part of it,” he said.
Austin Stacks along with Kilkenny’s Ballyhale Shamrocks, took turns launching both championships on RTE, which was quite fitting seeing that the two clubs are current county champions of the All-Ireland champions.
