THE Oyster Tavern was the place to be for Churchill GAA faithful on Friday night, as their first ‘Strictly Come Dancing’ event was officially launched.
The dancers were introduced to those present, who had a chance to purchase tickets – which will soon be like gold dust – for the event which will be held in the Ballyroe Heights Hotel on Sunday, April 30 at 8pm.
The 11 couples have been rehearsing diligently under the expert eye of choreographer Jackie O’Mahoney and will no doubt be in tip-top shape by showtime.
The winners on the night will be determined by public vote and judges marks, with the top couple winning €500 for the charity of their choice.
The 11 couple taking part are; Sheila Fitzgerald and Fr Eamonn Mulvihill; Rachel Brassil and Jeremy Walsh; Joanne Crowley and Brendan Kelly; Katie McCarthy and James Allman; Sinead Cotter and Johnny Clifford; Niall Ó Loingsigh and Juliette Rolls; Catherine Walsh and Michael O’Brien; Katie McCarthy and Ivan Parker; Veronica Kelly and JJ Prior; Eileen Moran and Gary Dillon; Susan Farrelly and John Carmody.
Funds raised from the event will be targeted at the second phase of development of the clubhouse, parking and facilities at the new grounds at Churchill and also for equipment for the juveniles.
