HUNDREDS of people enjoyed a fantastic performance which brought together the skills of world-class step dancers in Siamsa Tire last night.
Previewing as part of the Tocht Festival of Dance – which has been taking place in Siamsa since Thursday – Anam is an authentic and raw, percussive dance piece explores the similarities and differences between the dancers, each with their own distinct hard shoe style.
Performed with live music and song by acclaimed musician Fergal O’Murchú it features dancers Matthew Olwell (Appalachian Flat Foot) Jonathan Kelliher (North Kerry, Munnix style) Nathan Pilatzke (Ottawa Valley, Canada) and John Fitzgerald (Modern Irish).
Co-directed by Jonathan Kelliher and Sue Ellen Chester McCarthy, the show amazed audiences on Friday night and the good news is there is still tickets available for Saturday night’s performance. Tickets €18/€15. Scroll down for photos…
