‘YES!’ was the call of the day heard around the Square as the ‘Yes Bus’ rolled into town ahead of the ‘Marriage Equality Referendum’ on May 22.
Photographers and ‘Yes’ advocates who were armed with leaflets and badges were watched by a multitude of curious onlookers who had come over to see what was causing such a stir on Wednesday morning.
The group behind the bus have been travelling the length and breadth of the country over the last few weeks to promote their message of marriage equality.
There was speeches given by various people on the day, from a woman who spoke about her desire to marry her female partner this coming July, to writer Billy Keane talking about how he believed this referendum was all about how we as a country needed to unite and get behind the main message of ‘LOVE’.
There was applause given to each of the speakers as they finished up, the crowds having grown bigger around them as they spoke.
