A GROUP of workers had a pretty eventful episode in north Kerry last week, when they came to the aid of a stricken animal who was stuck in a mud-filled ditch.

Workers from TLI Group, based near Abbeydorney, were out doing contract work for the ESB near Tarbert when they heard an animal in distress.

They followed the cries until they came across a horse who was almost buried in a muddy ditch.

The workers set about rescuing the animal by managing to get a harness and rope around it and after a while they were able to haul it to safety.

Managing Director of TLI Group, John Tuite, commended the workers for their prompt action in rescuing the horse, while the owner of the animal was very grateful to TLI for their services as the horse was later given the all clear by a vet. Scroll down for photos…

  1. Way to go TLI Group. Excellent work

  2. Well done to all from TLI that were involved. It’s great that with all the structures, controls and safety procedures that you must comply and work with, that concern for the welfare of an animal in distress became your primary concern. Well done to you all again.

To TLI management: You might consider some form of recognition for those involved.
