The proposed site of a new Topaz petrol station on the John Joe Sheehy Road.

THERE has been application for a new Topaz petrol station on John Joe Sheehy Road adjacent to the Aldi supermarket.

Corrib Oil Company Limited, have applied for permission to construct a two storey retail/office building and a petrol filling station on the grounds of the old John Mitchels GAA pitch.

The development will comprise of a retail shopping area and an off-license, food counter and seating area.

The construction of a forecourt will include six pump islands with a canopy covering it and car wash facilities with a single storey car wash building.

The site will also include car parking, landscaping and associated site works.

It’s another planned development for that part of town after Lidl submitted their plans to construct a supermarket on the old Heiton Buckley premises at Edward Street recently.
