Projects Across Kerry To Share €250,000 Allocation For Works

OVER €250,000 has been allocated for 26 project in Kerry.

An allocation of €103,379.50 is being made under the Built Heritage Investment Scheme (BHIS) and €147,550 under the Historic Structures Fund (HSF) for the projects across the county, including Tralee (see list below).

The schemes fund a variety of repairs and renovation works to prevent deterioration, protect character, and encourage the re-use of protected structures. The schemes also provide important support for the employment of traditional craftspeople and conservation professionals.

Welcoming the new, Minister for Education Norma Foley said: “Our built heritage is a tangible expression of our history and culture, and a distinctive and attractive element of our towns, villages and countryside.

“These funded works within Kerry will have an added economic benefit by generating employment for heritage contractors and other skilled crafts and tradespeople in the locality and I very much look forward to the works commencing apace.”
