A hugely impressive outing for Kerry Camogie in Abbeydorney, where they were much too powerful and skilful for Clare.

The conditions were not ideal for camogie, but both teams served up a quality game.

Kerry were on top in all lines of the field. Alanna Maunsell was very impressive between the sticks with at least three great shot stops.

Michele Costello, Niamh Leen and Liz Houlihan were solid at the back, the halfback line of Orla Young, Sara Murphy and Elaine Ryall were dogged while defending and dynamic in attack mode.

Aoife Behan played a captain’s role working hard and tapping over a point to boot. Olivia Dineen was equally diligent alongside Aoife.

Laura Collins worked non-stop throughout the hour lashing over the final point of the game, Patrice Diggin imperious at centre forward. Julianne O’Keefe worked up and down the wing tirelessly.

Alannah Whelan, Ann Marie Leen and Jessica Fitzelle looked dangerous all day in the inside line.

Jessica Fitzelle was replaced late on by Norette Casey. Norette did not take long to make an impression, almost immediately crashing the ball to the net, she followed with a point later.

Kerry led by eight points at halftime 0-10 to 0-02, Patrice Diggin made it 0-11 to 0-02 early in the second half.

A Clare revival looked on when they were awarded a free close in, Keelin Lyons blasted the ball to the net to make the score 1-04 to 0-11, Jackie Horgan steadied the Kerry ship with a point before Norette Casey buried the Clare challenge with a goal on her introduction.

Laura Collins had the final say with a point to leave the final score Kerry 1-15 Clare 1-04.
