Six Things To Do Around Tralee This Bank Holiday Weekend

It’s the weekend and it’s a long one. Hallelujah! The weather is set to be mixed but that won’t stop you from getting up to all sorts. Here’s a few suggestions on what to do…

Saturday

1. Watch the triathletes…

Fenit is going to be packed this Saturday afternoon as 400 people take to the water, bikes and road for the Tri Kingdom Come event run by the Tralee Triathlon Club.

You’ll have to get into Fenit early though as road closures will be in operation. The participants are coming from all over Ireland an set off from 12.30pm.

2. Go from dull to daring

If something more glamorous tickles your fancy, CH Chemists is hosting top beauty blogger, Sinead Kavanagh of ‘The Beautiful Truth’ fame.

She will be imparting her tips and advice at the Benefit event with tickets at €20 (€10 redeemable with Benefit purchases).

3. Hurling showdowns…

This weekend sees two Garveys Supervaly Kerry SHC Round 3 games down for decision at Austin Stack Park.

The first game is on Saturday night at 7pm where St Brendans face Abbeydorney. Then on Sunday, Causeway play Ballyduff at 2pm. The winners go to the semis while the losers are gone.

4. Vintage times in Abbeydorney…

The Abbeydorney Vintage Society are holding their annual vintage rally this weekend with the fun kicking off on Saturday afternoon at 5.30pm.

The vintage car and tractor run will set off on two different routes around the roads of North Kerry, returning to the Village at approximately 8pm to the Vintage Field, where a BBQ and entertainment will be provided. The fun continues from 12 noon on Sunday with great family entertainment.

Sunday

5. Go for a run…

The annual Banna 10k Road Race and 5k Fun Run returns and participants will set off at 9.30am.

The 10K Road Race distance is restricted to over 18 only! (AAI permit). 5K Fun Run is available to all.

Registration on Saturday (5 August 2017) from 6-8pm and Sunday (6 August 2017) from 8 – 9:15am at Banna Sea Rescue. For more details click here

6. Ashe entertainment…

 Kerry’s No 1 entertainer, Jack Patrick Healy, is set to return to Alfie’s at The Ashe Hotel this August Bank Holiday Weekend for what promises to be another jam packed evening of top class musical entertainment.

Jack will play from 8.30-11pm on Sunday August 6. His last appearance was a complete sell out and The Ashe are urging people to book their tables early to avoid disappointment. Reservations can be made by contacting the hotel directly on 066 7106300 or email info@theashehotel.ie
