DEMAND for non-religious funerals is growing and Hogan’s Funeral Home are responding with their service to reflect the needs of the local community in Tralee and surrounding areas.

In the last Census, 2022, the number of people who reported having no religion increased to 736,210 nationally – that is over 14% of the population.

Celebrating an individual’s life that is personalised can be done in a number of ways, including religious, non-religious and civil funeral ceremonies at Hogan’s Funeral Home.

A non-religious ceremony can be specifically designed by the family and friends reflecting the wishes of the deceased.

A Civil Celebrant or Humanist can guide you through the process and then conduct their ceremony which can include reflections from family members or friends, music, poems and readings.

While a non-religious funeral can be held anywhere, Hogan’s has a number of inter-faith rooms available to mourners, including the large bright modern Fuchsia Room and the Serenity Garden where loved ones can gather and celebrate the life of their beloved in a personalised funeral service – to give them a fitting tribute on their final journey.

Hogans also has the Family Room which provides a personalised break-out space for the immediate family members to use before, during or after the service.

Religious ceremonies can be held in The Rose Chapel. Livestreaming is available from all rooms and Chapel.

Owner of Hogan’s Funeral Home, Sean Lynch, says; “The most common funeral service in Kerry is still centered around the Christian and Catholic faiths, but we want to acknowledge the diverse culture and community living in Ireland today and feel it is important to reflect their wishes at such an emotional time in a family’s life”.

Sean has been in the funeral business for over 35-years starting with Lynch’s Funeral Home in Castlegregory which he still runs, and now Tralee after purchasing Hogan’s Funeral Home in 2021.

John O’Rahilly has worked in Hogan’s Funeral Home for over 65 years and since his time the premises has undergone significant refurbishment which is contemporary, calm and serene.

Sean, John and the Hogan’s team are highly skilled caring professionals who are well-known throughout Kerry for the personalised service they offer.

They create a solid relationship with each family they work with and are delighted to be able to offer a range of funeral services to the people of Kerry.
