Academy

Last sunday was the final day of our Academy for 2016. St Pats senior team player and All Ireland Minor winner, Kieran Dwyer presented our U6/8 and 10 kids with certificates of achievement for their efforts throughout the year. We hope every child enjoyed the academy that has proven to be a successful outlet for our stars of the future. We hope that every child returns in 2017 and that they keep practicing in the meantime.
Thanks to all the Juvenile coaches and everyone who made the Academy a success this year.

U10’s: The curtains came down on the St Pats u-10 season last Sunday morning. After 35 + sessions including training sessions – indoor and outdoor, games, blitz’s and tournaments, a special club mass and cake sale in Curraheen church, a parade through Tralee on St Patrick’s day, Scór, a walk on the Dingle way challenge,  Féile and family walk. As usual there was a great turnout of Boys & Girls who were all presented with beautiful  St Pats certs for the great progress they made with their football skills during the year by our very own Kerry minor footballer, Kieran Dwyer. Huge credit is due to the players for the effort they gave during the year. The u-10 management of Johnny Enright,  Dipo Dairo  and John Breen would like to thank them all. Also a special  thanks to our Juvenile chairman Seamus Murphy, Juvenile secretary Mary Wallace, club PRO Dipo Dairo and all the parents for their help during the year. It is important our U10’s all keep practicing their skills at home during the off season. We wish the players moving on to U 12’s all the best and we look forward to watching you continue to progress in your football development  in  2017.  Naomh Padraig abú.

Blennerville Derrymore CFR

Blennerville NS

St Pats and Kerry Minor star, Kieran Dwyer, made a very welcome return to his former school in Blennerville last week and was warmly received by the pupils and his former teachers. He was not alone as he brought the Tom Markham Cup to the school and current pupils of the school had the opportunity to take pictures with Kieran and the cup as well as grill him on a load of tough questions. The school wishes him all the best for the future.

Movember

Movember are being supported by the GAA again this year to stop men dying too young. On average men die 6 years earlier than women, the reasons for this are complicated but it’s clear that men aren’t comfortable talking about their health, feelings or going to the doctor and instead they suffer in silence. With 1 in 8 Irish men being diagnosed with prostate cancer and 8 in 10 suicides being men, it’s clear that we need to take action.
Please support a very worthy cause! Log on to www.movember.com for more details
