Lotto:

This week our Lotto draw took place on Monday August 24th. Results will be in next week’s notes.
Next week’s Lotto draw will take place this Sunday night August 30th in O’Dwyer’s Bar. Lotto tickets are available from the usual outlets or any club officer.

Juvenile Academy:
Training commenced last Friday after a month’s break and the lads that turned up showed enthusiasm and zeal throughout the hour long session.

It was great to see that they practiced their skills at home during the holidays as these were evident in the way they took to the drills during training. We would like to welcome into the fold, Lisa Rowan, daughter of former St. Pats star forward, PJ. We hope to see even larger numbers next week.

U-14s:

Our u14’s played against the Mitchel’s on Tuesday night in the final of the central league but unfortunately it wasn’t our night. We started off well with a point from Fergal O’Brien from a free after Tomas o’ Sullivan was fouled.

We held possession for a good period of time in the first half but didn’t capitalize on it. Patrick Dowling hit the crossbar and Darragh Moriarty kicked the ball short into the goalies hand. With great saves in goals from Ian McCarthy and fantastic defending by Cathal Fitzgibbon a well worked ball from Nathan Rowan allowed Danny Greaney the chance to pop the ball over the bar.

However things rapidly changed and Mitchels took control of the game scoring 2 consecutive goals and a point.

Our backs Niall McCarthy, Damien Quirke, Ciaran O’Donoghue, Brian Teahan, Martin Savage and Cathal Fitzbibbon were under constant pressure for the remainder of this half while dealing with wave after wave of Mitchels attacks but they never gave up.

Our midfielders Ali Gardezi and Fergal O’Brien fielded some great ball and passed it into our forwards Darragh Moriarty, Tomas O’Sullivan, Patrick Dowling, Luke O Carroll, Nathan Rowan and Danny Greaney.

We saw 2 points from Fergal and one from Danny but just before the half time whistle Damien Quirke who was powerful in defence blocked the ball but it deflected allowing Mitchels to add another goal to their score sheet.

Half time score Mitchels 3-5 St. Pats 0-5. Changes were made in the second half seeing Samuel Abubaker, Cormac Lynch, Gavin Doody, James O’Sullivan and Tadgh Kerins come into the game but unfortunately Mitchels were too good on the night.

Mitchels totally dominated this half but our boys never gave up and Ali, Patrick, Fergal and Cathal added to our score sheet to make the final score Mitchels 7-9 St.Pats 1-10.

A big thank you to the mentors Joe Costelloe, Brendan Poff, Eoin Sayers and Maurice Quirke who have made great strides with this young team throughout the year.
