Status Yellow Low Temperature/Ice Warning Issued As Ireland Set To Freeze

A STATUS Yellow Low Temperature/Ice warning has been issued for Kerry and the rest of the country as its expected to get even colder over the coming days.

It will be very cold overnight and early Monday morning with the danger of icy patches.  Some freezing fog patches locally also. This may result in difficult travelling conditions and animal welfare issues.

The warning is valid from 7pm on Sunday to 11am to Monday. It’s likely further warnings will be issued over the coming days as temperatures plummet.

Looking at the projected temperatures for Tralee over the coming days, it will fall to 0°c overnight and to -1°c on Monday night/Tuesday morning.

Temperatures could fall to as low as -5°c on the nights of Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday with daytime values no higher than 5°c.
