IT’S going to be a wet and windy Friday if Met Eireann’s latest forcast is correct. They have issued Status Yellow wind and rain warnings to affect Kerry for tomorrow.

The Status Yellow wind warning is for Munster with Southeasterly winds reaching mean speeds of 50 to 65km/h with gusts of 90 to 110km/hr.

Gusts will exceed these values in exposed coastal areas and on higher ground, especially in the southwest. The warning is valid from 4am to 3pm.

The Status Yellow rain warning sees heavy rain leading to accumulations of around 25 to 40mm but may exceed these limits in mountainous areas.

The warning is valid from 6am to 6pm, but from their rainfall radar on their website, it looks like the worst of the rain will have passed by around 2pm here in Tralee.
