HUNDREDS of people will take a step back in time later this month for a special fundraiser in aid of the Kerry Parents and Friends Association.

Josephine and Patrick O’Riordan will once again host Vintage Tea Afternoons over the weekend of Saturday, June 17 and Sunday, June 18 at a cottage adjacent to their home in Ardfert.

The cottage will be transformed into vintage tea rooms and everyone is encouraged to dress up in elegant vintage garb to get into the spirit of things. There’ll be ‘servants’ appropriately dressed to serve the guests.

This will be the fourth time they’ve held the event which has raised €12,000 so far for the great cause. The O’Riordans daughter Siobhan attends the day centre at Kerry Parents and Friends Association in Listowel and the centre gives them a wishlist of items for them to purchase with the funds.

The event is pretty much sold out again this year, but donations are welcome to the cottage in East Commons on the day (on the Station Road about 300 yards past the school).

Those lucky enough to have booked will enjoy home-baked treats from the people in the parish, while the O’Riordans also thanked sponsors Kerry Group, Lee Strand, O’Connell’s Village Kitchen in Causeway, Barry Print, Horgan’s Centra in Ardfert, Ballymaloe Relish and Lidl in Listowel.

A roundabout at horans centre or traffic lights are urgently needed. Traffic from Turbrid cross needs to be slowed down from above St BRENDAS TERRACE before someone is mowed down
