ONE Tipperary man certainly earned the right to put his feet up after he completed the gruelling feat of running six marathons in six days to help raise funds for the BUMBLEance organisation, with Tralee being his final stop on Saturday afternoon.

Noel McCarthy, from Nenagh, took it upon himself to run the ‘Munster 6 in 6’ challenge in which he would run the marathon distance of 26.2 miles every day in each of the six counties in Munster.

He finished his sixth and final run in Tralee late on Saturday afternoon with a team of friends and fellow runners running the last few miles with him into town, finishing with a flourish on The Mall.

Noel has so far managed to raise up to €1,485 for the organisation, with the fundraising page staying open for another week after this for anyone else wishing to donate. They can do so through the fundraising page HERE.

“Thanks to all the well wishers, the supportive comments, the people who loaned me county jerseys for each day, those who ran with me, those who donated money, the groups who allowed me to use their marathon routes and the support crews in each county,” said Noel in a message posted on the ‘Munster 6 in 6’ Facebook page on Monday morning.

“I could not have achieved this great feat without all of you and want to thank you on behalf from me and from those who will benefit from the funds raised for BUMBLEance,” he finished.

Check out the BUMBLEance website HERE to see their work.
