Free Christmas Cookery Demo In Aid Of Adapt At Total Cleaning Kerry

A FREE Cookery Demo in aid of Adapt Kerry will be held in-store at Total Cleaning Kerry’s store at the Horan Centre next Friday, December 1st.

Total Cleaning are delighted once again to welcome Mark Doe from Just Cooking who will be joining them to share festive culinary tips from 11am to 1pm.

On the day, all proceeds from sales will be donated to Adapt Women’s Refuge, a local organization dedicated to supporting and empowering women and children in need.

By shopping with Total Cleaning, you’re not only embracing quality products but also extending a helping hand to those who need it most this Christmas.

THE weather is perfect for summer cooking and those who showed up on Monday night at the Manor West Hotel certainly got plenty ideas for the weeks ahead.

Chef Mark Doe of Just Cooking fame gave a cookery demonstration as a fundraiser for the KDYS, ably assisted by ‘Apprentice Chef’ finalist Gaelle Adado.

The theme was ‘Summer Cooking Made Easy’ and began with a drinks reception and there was spot prizes and tasty samples galore.

The proceeds from this evening will help KDYS to continue Building Futures for young people in Kerry. Scroll down for photos…

Scoil Eoin Teams Up With Gangsters For Cookery Demo

WHILE it might not feel like spring yet, the good people at Scoil Eoin are planning an event to showcase how to use seasonal ingredients to create amazing dishes.

The ‘Spring Food Demo’ is being organised by the Parents Association  at the primary school to raise funds to be used in the new school extension once built.

They have teamed up with the ‘Tralee Culinary Gangsters’ who will be conducting the demo in Ballyroe Heights Hotel on Thursday March 22 at 7.30pm.

At the heart of the idea is cooking with local ingredients that are in season. On the night they will have some 5th class pupils and budding chefs along to help out.

The monies raised will be used to install herb gardens to complement the cookery room and also plants for the sensory garden for the new ASD /Autistic unit.

Raffles and spot prizes will take place on the night and there will be a selection of lovely foodie prizes to be won. Tickets are €10 each and will be on sale from the school, Croi Restaurant in The Square, Maguires Butchers Caherslee and Ballyroe Heights Hotel.

THE teacher and students of the professional cookery course at Kerry College of Further Education served up festive treats at a cookery demonstration on Thursday night.

The Christmas themed cookery evening was a wet-attended affair with mulled wine on arrival and loads of tips and tricks from  KCFE Chef Teacher, Kay Lanigan Ryan.

Edible gifts and alternatives to the traditional food items were just part of the focus as Kay  demonstrated ice cream based Christmas pudding, Christmas logs, truffles, chocolate biscuits, savory canopies and much more.

There was also some smart ideas on how to involve children in the kitchen fun. There were loads of spot prizes in the raffle and St. Vincent De Paul benefited from the night. Scroll down for photos…

BALLYROE Heights Hotel was the venue for ‘A Taste of Christmas’ cookery demonstration on Thursday night.

This event was a fundraiser for Ardfert N.S. and the Tralee Culinary Gangsters gave some great tips on how to make Christmas special.

The Tralee Culinary Gangsters are a group of local and former hospitality professionals who write a blog about food and wild local edibles.

Guests enjoyed a mulled wine reception before enjoying the demonstration and some tasty treat served up by the lads. Scroll down for photos…

Christmas Cooking Made Easy With KCFE Festive Event

CHRISTMAS themed cookery evenings are always a nice way to get into the spirit of the festive season making for a fun night out with family and friends.

The public are invited to next Thursday evenings Christmas Cookery Demonstration and Tasting Evening at Kerry College of Further Education, Tralee and are promised a thoroughly enjoyable evening with tips and tricks from host KCFE Chef Teacher Kay Lanigan Ryan.

“With a wealth of experience in high profile hotels both in Ireland and Australia, and having recently graduated with a Masters in Culinary Arts Management, Kay runs the Professional Cookery programme at the college and promises to share on the night her expertise for perfecting the annual Christmas delights,” said Mary Murphy, Assistant Principal at the college.

Edible gifts and alternatives to the traditional food items will be just part of the focus as Kay will demonstrate ice cream based Christmas pudding, Christmas logs, truffles, chocolate biscuits, savory canopies and much more.

You will also learn how to make memories for kids as Kay will give some smart ideas on how to involve children in the kitchen fun.

“On behalf of the college I take this opportunity to sincerely thank the numerous businesses who sponsored such generous prizes which will be raffled on the night,” said Mary.

Tickets for the event (Thursday 8th December commencing at 6.30pm) are priced at €10 and are selling like hotcakes.  They can be booked by calling the college office on 066 7121741.

“This is an occasion not to be missed for food lovers and culinary novices alike and what’s more you will be contributing to a good cause as the event is a fundraiser for the local St. Vincent De Paul,” Mary said.
