THE price of petrol and diesel at the filling station pumps around Tralee has risen by around four cent per litre since we last did a survey eleven weeks ago.

But looking a little further back, the cheapest price back on August 10 for petrol was €1.26 per litre compared to €1.34 now, so that’s an eight cent difference in around four months.

In our regular check on the prices of fuel, it shows that most garages are between the €1.34 and €1.35 (€1.24 and €1.25 for diesel) per litre mark compared with the cheapest price of €1.29.9 on October 5.

Four stations have the same price of €1.34.5 at €1.24.5 per litre, while most of the other come within a cent of that price.

Back in January the cheapest price was €1.32.8 and €1.23.8. See the full list of prices below (cheapest first)…

THE price of petrol and diesel has changed very little in the past six weeks in service stations around the town.

In our regular check on the prices of fuel, it shows that most garages were around the same as the last time we checked, with Top in Caherslee the cheapest for petrol at €1.26.5 per litre (€1.16.5 for diesel), marginally ahead of Top, Horan Centre.

The rest of the stations varied between €1.27.5 and €1.30.9 which was around the same as June 30 prices, the last time we surveyed.

Back in January the cheapest price was €1.32.8 and €1.23.8 so that’s still a five cent drop per litre since the start of the year in many garages. See the full list of prices below (cheapest first)…

THE price of petrol and diesel has stayed pretty much the same since the start of the year at the garages around town.

In our monthly check on the prices of fuel, it shows that there is no difference between the prices since our last check five weeks ago, apart from around three stations where the price came down by a cent.

Prices have only risen by a cent per litre – or in some cases not all – in the garages since the start of January.

There is virtually no difference between almost all of the petrol stations in terms of prices, apart from Texaco in Oakpark which is six cent per litre dearer for petrol and diesel than the rest. See the full list of prices below…

Top, Horan Centre, prices were not displayed at 10.45am when we passed. 

THERE’s been a substantial rise in the price of petrol in the Tralee area over the past month.

In that time it has risen from its cheapest price of  €1.26.8 per litre to €1.34.9. Petrol has continued to rise since January when a litre costed as low as  €1.22.8.

There has also been a change in who has the cheapest in town. Jumping up three places, Texaco in Blennerville is now the cheapest place around town to fill up at  €1.34.9.

The dearest remains, as it has since January, the McElligott’s garage, Texaco, at a price of €1.38.9 per litre.

The second cheapest places to get fuel are the Applegreen stations in Faries Cross and Manor Village at a price of €1.35.8.

In the middle of the pack at a price of €1.35.9 are Inver, Castlemaine Road, Esso, NCR and Top in the Horan Centre.

At the bottom of the table are the Amber station opposite Shanakill and Texaco McElligott’s.
