“I want to thank The Rose Hotel and their staff for all the effort they put in to organising the event,” said Breda Dyland of KCSG.
“They made a special effort to have former staff from Horans and Spirals for the night and that made it so authentic. It was a very positive and fun night.
“Raising the funds is absolutely essential for our service because events like this keep us on the road and it also raises awareness that we are based in Tralee,” added Breda.
Michele King, Director of Sales and Marketing at The Rose Hotel, said they were delighted to help.
“We were delighted with the success of the night and shaking off the January blues. The guests went to great effort and you nearly stood out more if you weren’t dressed up! We’re delighted to support the Kerry Cancer Support Group and we thank our local suppliers who helped us to keep the costs down so more money went to KCSG.”

One of her mantras was that “Life is for Living” and the country music weekend celebrated all that she loved” said Jerry.
The three-day music event featured many country music singers including International singers Trudi Lawlor, Mike Denver and Michael English will take place again next October.

KERRY Cancer Support Group (KCSG) has received an incredible €44,000 after a series of fundraising events in the past year.
KCSG was approached a year ago by Breda Lynch and Siobhan Kelliher from the ‘Glenflesk ag Rith’ running group with an idea that they wanted to do a series of runs leading up to the Dublin City Marathon and at the same time raise money for the Kerry Cork Health Link Bus.
“Running for the Bus” was born. Breda’s family had a strong connection with cancer at the time as her daughter was going through treatment.
Leah didn’t use the bus but it passes their door every day and was a symbol to them so they chose to support it. Throughout the year many events were held including “Rallying for the Bus”, “Clonkeen Youth Choir” cd launch, “Choir in the Shire” and of course all of the runs that happened during the year culminating in the Dublin Marathon.

Ultan called into Kerry Cancer Support Group’s offices in Maine Street on Thursday where he and Kerry GAA star, Barry John Keane supported their#keepyoureyesontheball campaign, as April is testicular cancer awareness month.
Testicular cancer is the number one cancer risk for men between 15 and 35 and around 180 young men a year are diagnosed with the cancer. Ultan was delighted to give his support.
