ONE of the most popular family festive events, the Tralee 5km Santa Fun Run, is back again this year for its 10th anniversary.

As always, the Tralee Bay Wetlands will be a sea of red and white this Sunday, December 10, at 11am as everyone is encouraged to dress up in festive regalia to run, walk or cycle the 5k.

Since it started, around €65,000 has been raised for various charities and the event has grown into a festive tradition for families. This year it is being held in aid of the Kerry Parents and Friends.

The run starts at 11am but participants are encouraged to start arriving from 10.30am to sample the great atmosphere. To register for the event click here to go to the eventbrite page.

The charity event was founded by Martin and Deirdre Moore in 2013 in memory of their daughter Fiona, who was just 16 when she passed away in May of that year from Pulmonary Hypertension, while waiting on a lung transplant.
