THE proceeds from a hugely successful event held back in September were presented to Recovery Haven on Wednesday evening.

Ballymacelligott Vintage Club  held its inaugural rally and family fun day, in the field adjacent to O’Riada’s Bar and Restaurant, on Sunday, September 16.

After a night of fun in the bar the night before, a beautiful, sunny day saw hundreds of people show up for a great day of entertainment and the result was €5,432 raised for the cancer support facility.

“We were over the moon and couldn’t get over how well it went,” said George Glover of the Ballymac Vintage Club. “We want to thank the stewards, all the people who supported the event and the Ó Riada family for their help, especially John Reidy and Mary Jones. We were delighted to support Recovery Haven, which is such a great facility.”  George also said they hope to make it an annual event for charity.

Dermot Crowley of Recovery Haven expressed his gratitude to the Club. “We’re delighted and honoured to receive the money and want to thank George, Mary, all the wonderful volunteers on the day and the Ó Riada family for their hospitality and for making the field available to us.”

Recovery Haven have two upcoming fundraisers. On Thursday, November 29 they have their ‘Movember Challenge Shave-Off’ in the Rose Hotel while Friday, November 30 sees their ‘Evening Of Sporting Greats’ event at Ballyroe Heights Hotel at 7.30pm, tickets for which can be bought from Recovery Haven on 066-7192122.
