TRALEE-based Portman Travel has scooped one of Ireland’s most prestigious travel awards.

Portman Travel, based at Monavalley, won Best TMC at the ITM Business Travel Awards Ireland, which were held at the Westin Hotel, Dublin in late November.

The award recognised the business’s investment in new technology, its retention of high profile clients and the success of its European Centre of Excellence, based in Tralee.

Portman Travel has, in the past 12 months, increased revenues by 39 per cent, thanks to a roster of multinational clients, that includes names such as leading pharma business, Alkermes. It employs more than  50 people in its Tralee centre which is also the home of Portman Travel’s highly acclaimed  training academy.

Loraine Corkery, Head of Operations at Portman Travel in Tralee, said: “This is a credit to the hard work of everyone in Portman Ireland, the great success of PortmanOne our award winning technology platform and an acknowledgement of the high standards we work to.
