The Gerald Walsh Memorial Swim: Congratulations and well done to all of the swimmers. The swim was pulled forward an hour to accommodate the inclement weather, however there were still showers as the race took place.

The SE wind was minimal . 41 swimmers took part with most fighting for valuable points for The Swimmer of The Year Awards . It was amazing to see everyone at the finish having put 100 percent effort in with some swimmers unable to even stand up .

Massive commitment and hugely Inspiring for the onlookers . The first person home was Cillian Tierney .

For what it’s worth, you are all winners for even taking part throughout the year. Some fantastic swims and great camaraderie by all .

Unfortunately there can only be one overall winner or Swimmer of The Year . And the winner is…all will be revealed at the prize giving on 26th September in The Meadowlands .

Prizes will be for Sunday’s winners sponsored by Spa Seafoods and the presentation of The Gerald Walsh Memorial Cup . Swimmer of The Year , Winter Swimmer Of The Year , Best Newcomer , and 1st , 2nd and 3rd in each group .

Please contact us for tickets as we need numbers soon . See you there !

Winter Swimming / Turkey Series: Just a reminder that the Winter Swimming will commence with The Turkey Series towards the middle of October .

It takes place every Sunday Morning at 11am and the usual teas , coffees and hot chocolates and goodies will be available . Everyone is welcome , but it is without wetsuit !

We would like to encourage everyone to try it . Most swimmers just go for a splash and dash but some do a bit of distance . Whatever you feel comfortable with . No racing ! A great way to wake up and feel alive on A Winter Sunday morning .
