A TRALEE woman and her fiancé from Sligo will enjoy planning their wedding in a luxury Killarney hotel after receiving a large cheque towards their big day.
On Sunday, the Muckross Park Hotel and Spa gave away their biggest prize to date; a €10,000 cheque towards a wedding reception at the venue.
The prize was presented to the lucky couple, Rebecca Spellman and James Lyons, who live in Tralee, at the hotel’s wedding showcase event that afternoon.

“We were both so shocked when my name was called out, we couldn’t believe it! We were just there to enjoy the fair and get some ideas for our big day, never expecting to win this amazing prize,” said Rebecca.
“We are only engaged three weeks now so we are in the very early stages of planning but I’m sure the beautiful Muckross Park Hotel will help us every step of the way,” she said.

The competition received over 800 entries through the online application form, couples were asked to explain why they would like to have their wedding at Muckross and based on their wonderful stories, the judging panel shortlisted 10 couples.
The runners up received a €1,000 voucher off a wedding at Muckross Park Hotel & Spa. Special guest, Kathryn Thomas hosted the wedding showcase event, where there were 23 exhibitors on the day.
