Tralee Educate Together Wins Kerry Final Of Schools Debating Competition

The winning Tralee Educate Together team with teacher Deirdre and Principal Mary Brosnan.

A TEAM from Tralee Educate Together have been named Kerry winners of the Concern Primary Schools Debate Competition.

The question of if “Sport always brings communities together” was the motion for yesterday’s county final between Tralee Educate Together NS and Ardfert NS.

Both teams made excellent points and it was clear they had done their research and preparation.

The adjudicator from Concern, Patsy Toland, had the hard job of deciding the winning team. He was impressed by all the points and rebuttals that were made.

At the end of the day, team Tralee Educate Together NS emerged victorious. Congratulations are due to Kinga, Alexander, Fiadh, Zuzanna, Clodagh, Sam, Dominik, Earl, Patrick and their teacher Deirdre.

Concern Primary School Debates is sponsored by Concern and organised by the Tralee Education Support Centre. Several schools in the county take part in the annual competition.  Best of luck to Tralee Educate Together as they move on to the national knockout round.
