A TRALEE man is part of a new food venture in Dublin which it is hoped will see around 30 outlets opened around the country in the next number of years.

Declan Breen, originally from Cloonanorig, has just opened NKD Pizza in Rathgar with two friends John Nolan from Wicklow and David Fitzpatrick from Laois, while Adrian Grey, formerly of Kerry Group,  has invested in the project.

NKD Pizza, is a healthier pizza brand already renowned worldwide, and the lads took the franchise for the whole of Ireland.

Declan, a former CBS The Green and Griffith College Dublin student, said the first Irish store at Orwell Road, Rathgar in South Dublin, is performing ahead of projections since opening on March 9.

He said they hope to open a new Dublin outlet before the end of the year with others to follow in the capital. There are no plans as yet for a Kerry outlet, but who knows what the future will bring.

Austin Stacks man Declan divides his time between Dublin and Tralee, where his wife Sinead and two children live. He spent a number of years in Dubai in the construction industry before returning to home soil.

NKD Pizzas are made fresh in-store, the hand-made dough which contains super grains such as Quiona and Amaranth, creating a healthier, tastier pizza base. Free from processed grains, pizza lovers can enjoy NKD Pizza without having to worry about that bloated feeling afterwards.

The Kerry connection continues with tubs of Murphy’s Ice-cream handmade in Dingle available at the outlet. So if you’re living or visiting Dublin you might want to check them out.
