TRALEE Municipal District councillors received a combined total of over €250,000 in payments in 2015 according to figures from Kerry County Council.
In figures supplied by the Council to Radio Kerry, it showed Cllr Pat McCarthy received the largest amount of €43,404.13, while Independent Cllr Sam Locke received the smallest amount of €21,888.14.
Cllr McCarthy’s figure includes a Cathaoirleach’s allowance of €15,862.95. Cllr Jim Finucane received €40,048.25, which includes €6,000 for Strategic Policy Committee Chairperson, €5,654.74 of a Mayor’s allowance and €3,161.68 of a Leas-Cathaoirleach’s allowance.

Cllr Thomas McEllistrim received €30,940.19, including €6,345.16 of a Mayor’s allowance and €2,706 of a Leas-Cathaoirleach’s allowance.
Each councillor received a taxable payment of €16,565.01 with the other payments coming in the form of expenses and allowances.
In all €938,780.49 was paid to Kerry County Councillors in 2015.
