Friday Treat Night:

On Friday it was first the turn of the Camogie under 16s and under 14s who had a treat of a pizza night followed by ice cream in the environs of the Small Square.

The girls were celebrating achievements including winning their divisions of the under 14 and under 12 county league at the end of last season.

Later on the same evening it was the turn of our under 14 boys celebrating their recent breakthrough that will see a Parnells team for the first time ever, competing in national Féile in June.

So, a very well deserved treat night for both sets of players.  Not a slice was left by all accounts.   Many thanks to Carmel for organising this innovative event for the club.

Camogie Coaching Course:

We were glad to see so many players participating in the second in a series of coaching courses by Rob Lotty and team. Thank you Lotty.  Photos online at https://www.facebook.com/TraleeParnellsHurlingClub/.

Well Done U14 Hurlers:
Good result for our U14 boys on the 11th in the County League against Abbeydorney in Caherslee.

Final score 4-06 to 1-01.

Hurling Skills Competition:

Congratulations to Parnells U12 player Andrew Kerins who qualified for the primary schools County Final of the Kerry Hurling Skills Competition.

Kerry U17 Hurlers:

Well done to the Kerry U17 hurlers who bounced back from a disappointing result last time out to defeat West Limerick in the Celtic Challenge. Parnells were well represented by Sean Hamilton, Cathal Dunne, Daire Keane, James McDonnell and Sean Boland.  Full Time Score in Newcastle West Kerry 3-14 West Limerick 0-13.

Leg Wax Night Sat 20th:

Please support Tralee Parnells leg Wax fundraiser on Saturday 20th May in Na Gaeil Clubhouse. A great night of fun is in prospect, with a Cinderella twist rumoured to be coming later in the evening.

Long Term Project:

Disappointing end to the Kerry Hurlers season after a 3 point defeat to Laois in the Leinster Championship today.

Great bunch of player that have worked very hard the last 6 months and if a few key players were available who know how the season would have gone.

Considering the number of clubs and players we have to choose from the county performs very well but its pretty clear that if Kerry hurling is to start mixing it regularly with the elite counties, juvenile efforts at clubs like Parnells, Firies, St Pats East Kerry, Rathmore, Dr. Crokes, must continue to grow and along with Kenmare Shamrocks and Kilgarvan, need to start feeding more player through to county teams.
