U14 Camogie

Tralee Parnells u14 Camogie team got their league campaign off too a winning start in Crotta last evening against newcomers AbbeyKiLix. Although playing with a depleted squad, though bolstered with some very capable u12s, the Parnell girls proved too strong for AbbeyKiLix who fought valiantly but were unable to break our defence. Backboned by our 5 older and more seasoned u14s the team played confidently all over the field and scored freely, running out easy victors in the end.

U6 Hurling

Our most important team in the club, our U6 boys and girls, have been training hard every Friday night in Caherslee under the excellent stewardship of David Lucid and his fellow mentors. As the next generation of our hurling and camogie teams, it is great to see the work being done and the enjoyment they are getting. Onwards and upwards.

U14 Hurling

Phase 2 of the U14 hurling league begins next Saturday August 22nd. Fixtures to follow in due course.

U16 Hurling

Tralee Parnells 4-05 South Kerry 6-11

A seriously depleted Parnells team, missing 8 regulars, performed valiantly against a strong South Kerry side in the first round of the U16 Championship in Caherslee last Thursday evening. With a number of the U14 panel called up for the evening, the team, led brilliantly by Jack Doyle, went score for score with South Kerry. Just before half time, South Kerry raised the green flag a number of times to put some daylight between the teams. However, the Parnells boys never gave up and with Andrew Kerins popping up with a few goals and the defence holding firm, Parnells were still in the game. However, despite some great forward play, they couldn’t get the goals they needed to bring them back into the game. They now go into the Plate competition and the next match is on Thursday 27th August. Hopefully, all the regulars will be available for that match.

Minor Hurling

Our Minor team play Ballyheigue in the quarter final of the Minor Hurling Championship next Sunday at 12 midday. Best of luck to the team and mentors.
