Tralee Parnells CrestBag packing day Sat Nov 28:
Many thanks to the generous support of the Tralee public to our Camogie bag packing day in Garvey’s on Sat Nov 28th. The purchase of two (2) sets of Camogie jerseys has been approved; all funds raised will go towards those jerseys. Thanks to the players who staffed the rota, well done girls, thanks also to the parents who helped on the day.

2015 AGM Finance Update:

A very well-thought out and considered report was submitted by the Treasury area to the recent AGM. The following extracts summarise some of the 2015 finance activity. One of the incoming Chairman’s first jobs this year was to appoint a Finance Committee and that proved to be a very wise move.

The Committee was very active during the year and arranged a number of separate Fundraising events. On top of that, there were various bag packing and raffles which contributed to the overall income. We were particularly lucky to have received substantial sponsorship from various sources throughout the year.

This was very welcome as it helped to offset some substantial expenditure, particularly schools coaching and purchase of equipment. A new account was opened specifically for the future development of the club. The main source of income for 2015 was from Sponsorship. We are very lucky to have Rory Kerins as our main sponsor and we sincerely thank him for his continued support.

This year, some new sponsors came on board, including The Rose of Tralee Hotel, IT Eireann, Kellihers Hardware and Lee Strand. Some sponsors specifically contributed to particular events. Roadbridge kindly provided support for the Mark Doe Fundraisers, which meant that we were safe in the knowledge that everything raised was profit.

Cadogan O’Regan Solicitors provided support towards the running of our end of year Blitz in John Mitchels. There were other sponsors also, but they have chosen to remain anonymous and we thank them for their support. Thanks to everyone who was responsible for bringing the sponsors on board.

The Treasurer went on to say that Parnells ran 4 major fundraisers during the year: a Leg Wax the ‘brainchild’ of Ger Reidy. Two Mark Doe Fundraisers in Nov ’14 and Oct ’15 and a draw for All-Ireland tickets in September.

We also had the GAA National Draw for which we started selling tickets last October and a number of bag-packing days. Each of these events was very successful and the Treasurer thanked Ger, Agnes Sheehy, David Brick and the rest of the Fundraising Committee for organising these events and making them a success. We hope to include further items of interest in future notes, from the Cisteoir AGM report.
