THE Tralee branch of Soroptimist Ireland came together in the Meadowlands Hotel on Saturday night to celebrate 50 years of activity in Tralee.
The Soroptimists are a ladies only club with their origins stemming from 1920’s USA. Since then the organisation has spread progressively worldwide.

The Soroptimists are a non-political, non profit service group who fundraise on behalf of different charities. They choose which charity to raise money for, either by a suggestion from a member or letters that get sent to them.
The charity The Soroptimist’s collected for this year was the Bumbleance and they raised €2,500.
“Soroptimism aims to inspire and guide young ladies and women and make them successful people,” said the President of the Tralee Soroptimists Karen Ivers Keohane.
