TRALEE Triathlon Club has joined forces with the RNLI to raise funds and bring a major sporting event to Fenit this summer with hundreds of athletes taking part.

This life-saving RNLI service is dependent on funds to continue to ensure the safety of people on the water this summer and Tralee Triathlon Club will now play a part in helping ensure the safety of water users by raising funds for Fenit lifeboat station.

Tralee Triathlon Club has revamped its annual summer triathlon which will be even bigger and better than before and they are now calling on all triathletes to sign up for one of Kerry’s only triathlons this year.

July 30th is the date for the Landers-sponsored Tri Kingdom Come Triathlon and the fantastic venue of Fenit village, outside Tralee, is the location for the summer sporting event.

Tri Kingdom Come was officially launched at the weekend and registration is now open for this major Kerry triathlon which is one of the most scenic in the country along the Wild Atlantic Way and also a fast course for athletes looking for a great event.

The sprint triathlon is a 750m swim, a 20km cycle and a 5km run, all within the environs of Fenit and it is ideal for all athletes no matter what their ability.

Tralee Triathlon Club is one of the fastest growing clubs in Kerry, and with almost 200 members in the club alone, this is going to a major event in The Kingdom.

Participants will travel from outside the county to take part in the Landers-sponsored Tri Kingdom Come and up to 400 athletes are expected to join the race on the day.

This event is also a family fun day out in Fenit and everyone is invited to come along and be spectators or join in the summer event.  Tralee Triathlon Club have also joined up with Fenit Development Association and Landers Outdoor World to host the event.

Some of the funds from the Tri Kingdom Come also go to towards Fenit Development Association and local projects in the village.  Landers sponsors Tri Kingdom Come is ideal for all abilities and organisers are calling on new triathletes to make this their goal this year.

Tralee Triathlon Club will also be launching their very own training programme to get participants ready for the event and they welcome new members.
And for those who just want to dip their toes in the world of triathlon there will also be a mini triathlon which incorporates a 250m swim, a 8km cycle, and a 2.5km run.

Race Director of Tri Kingdom Come, Joanne Allman, is calling on everyone to sign up for a great day out in event and complete in one of Kerry’s top triathlons.

“We are delighted to join up with the RNLI for this key triathlon event. This is going to be a super event for all triathletes in Kerry and further afield. We promise a great day out in the wonderful village of Fenit.”

“We are very grateful to our sponsors, Landers, for coming on board and to all the support we have received from the local community and we are looking forward to July 30th.”

She is urging athletes and newbies to sign up as soon as possible and put Tri Kingdom Come on their summer calendar.
