THREE friends are to climb Ireland’s toughest peaks in 24 hours to help out two children bravely battling a rare condition.

Alannah and Adam Foley, two children from Killorglin, bravely fighting Neurofibromatosis Type 1 (NF1), have captured the hearts of their community.

In a remarkable display of support, a trio of friends is embarking on an ambitious mission—The 4 Peaks Challenge— on May 5th in a bid to raise awareness and funds for the siblings’ ongoing treatment.

The 4 Peaks Challenge demands scaling the highest peaks in each of Ireland’s four provinces, including the mighty Carrauntoohil (1040m) in Co. Kerry, Mweelrea (841m) in Co. Mayo, Slieve Donard (840m) in Co. Down, and Lugnaquilla (925m) in Co. Wicklow.

While this challenge typically spans several days, Andrew Foley, TJ O’Connor, and Padraig McGillicuddy have set their sights on conquering all four peaks within a demanding 24-hour timeframe.

Andrew Foley, father of Alannah and Adam, spearheads this trio alongside TJ O’Connor, a dedicated lecturer at Munster Technological University, Tralee, and Padraig McGillicuddy, Hotel Proprietor at Ballygarry Estate Hotel & Spa, Tralee.

United by their shared passion for the hospitality industry and unwavering support for the Foley family in their time of need, these three friends stand strong in solidarity for a cause that truly matters.

Through their courageous endeavour, Andrew, TJ, and Padraig aim to shine a spotlight on NF1 and provide vital assistance to Alannah and Adam as they continue their courageous battle against this condition.

Their commitment symbolises the power of community, friendship, and collective action in making a meaningful difference.

The support from our communities can make a world of difference by donating to the Need for Neuro GoFundMe page.
