RTE screened ‘Micko’ last night profiling the life of the legendary GAA man from Waterville.
It was a hugely entertaining programme capturing the magic of Mick O’Dwyer and the public’s reaction was overwhelmingly positive judging by Twitter as you can see below.
I was genuinely excited about performing in front of Micko when Armagh met Wicklow in the 2011 championship. Him & his Kerry team were icons in our house growing up. That was an hour well spent. Superb documentary. #Micko

#micko was enjoyable but an hour only scratches the https://t.co/HlfCD34Jkh of my favourite Micko stories… pic.twitter.com/2hDmFRpoJK

Wow that #micko doc was absolutely amazing. What a special special man. So many good lines but the “Nice pudgy little fella” about Bomber Liston has to b the best

That’s the nicest pic of all. The ultimate competitor. When he beat you on the golf course he wanted to drive you into the ground. Never panicked. Mary Carmel used say he had a swinging brick for a heart. #Micko https://t.co/6nkwGAl9cq

My all time favourite event was one I shared with Micko. I was fairly star struck and after I did my talk he turned and said “there’s great stuff in you!” Still my favourite compliment to this day! #Micko pic.twitter.com/Cn92YxIiLn
