Expect to see a lot of this over the next few days.

WINTER arrived with a bang this week, bringing with it some truly horrendous wind and rain in the shape of Storm Abigail.

The bad news is, the horrible conditions are set to continue for the next two days at least, with Ireland still on a status yellow weather warning until 9pm tonight.

For today, Met Eireann, say we can expect heavy blustery showers that will continue for the rest of Friday, with the showers tending to be more frequent over the western half of the country.

It’s getting a bit nippy, with highest temperatures expected to range between seven and nine degrees.

On Saturday, we can expect a return to milder temperatures with the highest being 13 and 15 degrees later in the afternoon. But wet and windy weather tomorrow will persist, with heavy rain across the country for much of the day.

By the signs of it, Sunday, will bring with it the same conditions, with scattered outbreaks of rain, the heaviest across Atlantic counties.

A few days relaxing in front of a roaring fire seems the only remedy for this. Outdoor activity could be off-limits.

Here’s a clip of ‘Storm Abigail’ hitting the Dingle coast on Thursday.
