MEMBERS of the Kerry Volunteer Centre gathered on Monday morning gathered in the Tralee Bay Wetlands to launch National Volunteering Week.
During the week, staff at Kerry Volunteer Centre will be meeting people experiencing unemployment the length and breadth of the county to support them to think differently about volunteering locally.
The ‘Valuing Volunteering Coffee Morning’ held at the Wetlands got the week’s events up and running in Kerry.
When most of us consider volunteering it’s normally to do something for others and give something back. Few of us consider the possibility of really gaining from it ourselves.
‘Thinking differently about volunteering is the theme of National Volunteering Week 2016 in Kerry. It runs from Monday May 16 to Sunday, May 22.
Events will take place in Tralee, Kenmare Cahersiveen, Ballybunion, Dingle, Killarney and will hope to give people the taste of the best aspects of volunteering in the community.
