Fr Pat Moore 2LOCAL man and Asdee native, Fr Pat Moore, will launch his new book ‘Weathering a Storm’ in the Ballroom of the Listowel Arms Hotel on this Friday at 7.30pm.

Currently recovering from a lengthy battle with cancer, Fr Moore’s new book is an honest and engaging series of reflections on his life, his illness, and his recovery.

‘Weathering a Storm’ details Fr Moore’s harrowing journey over the past nearly two years where he faced many moments of uncertain darkness, but still found so much light and positivity from those around him.

In the book, Fr Moore also reflects on his vibrant life and career spent in various parishes such as Duagh, Lyre, Gneeveguilla, Lixnaw, Listowel and his time in Rome, as well as his childhood spent growing up in the village of Asdee.

Additionally, Fr Moore reflects on the struggles he faced during his first illness in the early 1990’s, and how this shaped his future journey.

‘Weathering a Storm’ will be launched by local filmmaker Gerard Barrett, in the company of Sonny Egan and a wide host of local talent, for what promises to be an evening filled with music, laughter, poetry, and storytelling.

Other special guests on the night will include renowned harpist Marina Cassidy. Copies of ‘Weathering a Storm’ will be on sale at the event and Fr Moore will also be personally signing copies on the night.

Admission is free and everyone is welcome to attend what promises to be an entertaining and enjoyable evening. The book will be also on sale in local shops all across Kerry. A portion of the profits from the book will be donated to the local charity, the Kerry-Cork Health Link Bus.
