IF you’re planning on a career as a professional artist then it will definitely be worth attending a free workshop next Tuesday, May 24, at the Manor West Hotel.

Dr Deirdre McQuillan, Project Team Leader, European University of Technology, is inviting community artists in the Tralee area to the workshop on planning personal but sustainable careers as professional artists.

“After completing extensive research with artists in the Drogheda region over the last year I have combined my background in enterprise research with stories about living and working as an artist within a regional community setting,” said Dr McQuillan.

“From this workshop I will provide professional artists with some tools and frameworks to help them conceptualise their career paths and the choices for them.  I hope from the workshop professional or aspiring professional artists will learn about sustaining their career and will gain inspiration  from the stories of others.

This workshop is for local artists of any disciplinary background.  I am working as a senior researcher at Technological University Dublin and my research passions are in entrepreneurship and creative sector strategy contexts.

The workshop  will be held between 9.30am and 12.30pm in the Boardroom at The Manor West Hotel, Tralee.  There is no charge but you need to register in advance.  You can register by just sending Dr McQuillan an email to deirdre.mcquillan@tudublin.ie or by scanning the QR code on the advert above.
