The Killarney Park & The Ross took home the top prize, the Overall Pakman award at the 2023 Pakman Awards. The grassroots community project was set up by a group of 25 local independent coffee shops and hotels this year with the goal of eliminating single use coffee cups from Killarney town centre and has removed over 70,000 cups from circulation to date. The 2023 Pakman Awards, which took place at the Shelbourne Hotel in Dublin, saw 300 representatives from leading businesses, organisations, individuals and community groups come together to recognise excellence in recycling and waste management, helping Ireland live in a circular economy. More than 700 students from nearly 40 countries celebrate graduation day at MTU’s Kerry North campus
●	More than 730 graduates conferred at Munster Technological University in Tralee  
●	The students hail from 39 countries spanning all corners of the globe
Friday October 27, MTU, Tralee, Co. Kerry: The ‘Class of 2023’ received their graduation awards at Munster Technological University’s Kerry North campus on Friday.
All conferring ceremonies took place at the Kerry Sports Academy, a state-of-the-art sports facility that is home to the Health & Leisure Department and the Sports Programme at MTU in Tralee.
This year’s graduating classes includes students from the School of Business, Computing and Humanities, the School of Hotel, Culinary Arts and Tourism, and the School of Health and Social Sciences and represent direct CAO applicants, mature students, international students, and those completing studies on a part-time basis.
The total number of students receiving their parchments on Friday is 732 ranging from Higher Certificates at Level 6 to Masters Degrees (Level 9) and Doctors of Philosophy (Level 10).
Testament to the multicultural diversity at MTU, this figure also includes 222 International students who hail from Canada, China, Germany, Greece, Hong Kong, Malaysia and the Netherlands, Zimbabwe, Kosovo, Syria and  the United States, among many other countries. 
MTU President Professor Maggie Cusack commented, “Conferring ceremonies are one of the highlights of our students’ journey with us and a great celebration. We congratulate all of our graduates, their families, loved ones and friends as we recognise the hard work and dedication that led to this moment. 
“While graduation marks the end of one part of our graduates’ journey with MTU, it’s also the beginning of a new chapter that may see them embark on further study through our Masters, PhD and Research programmes, or on rewarding careers across social, cultural, technological and industrial sectors. On behalf of everyone at MTU, I wish each and every one the very best for their future.”
