The AGM of Ballymac GAA Ladies Club
The Ladies Club AGM was held on Sunday 17thof January at 7:30pm via Zoom.  There were 12 members in attendance. The meeting was opened with a welcome from the Secretary and Chairperson, followed by a minute’s silence. The minutes of the 2019 meeting was read before the Secretary’s report.

The Secretary reported that the club had a very successful year, despite the obstacles of Covid-19. Thanks were extended to club officers, coaches, mentors, players, parents, supports and sponsors for ensuring that 2020 was a great year for the club. Reports from each team were read and the trojan work of Sean Hennessy, Fionnán Fitzgerald and Kerry Hennessy in live streaming the Senior games was acknowledged. This was a fantastic way of bringing the club into the homes of the community and greatly appreciated.

The Chairpersons report was read by Sean, a reflection of the year gone by, but also looking forward to the year that lies ahead.

Fundraising opportunities were minimum this year, but bag packing ahead of Christmas 2019 and Last Man Standing 2020 raised over €3,000 in much needed funds for the club. The club were delighted to participate in external fundraisers. All teams took part in the Jack Rahilly Points for Chemo and the MKL Gaels 1 million solos for ISPCC.

Congratulations were extended to Emma Sweeney for her appointment as County Board Assistant Secretary and also to Anthony Curran in his appointment as KLGFA Assistant treasurer. Also, congratulated were our players who played intercounty this year- a fantastic achievement. It is great to see so many Ballymac girls wearing the Kerry jersey. It is reflection of the work that has been put in by the girls as well as all those involved in the club over the years.

The need for women coaches was highlighted. At least one lady per team is required going forward. Volunteers would be greatly appreciated both by management and players alike.

The current committee were returned to their posts for 2021. Sean Hennessy (chairperson), Patrick White (Secretary), Emma Sweeney (Registrar) and Veronica O’Donnell (P.R.O)
