The book launched last November by Blennerville National School tracing the history of the school and local community has proven to be a big hit. It's success has allowed the group that compiled the book to make a donation to the funds of the school and they presented a cheque on Thursday to the school principal Mr. Terry O'Sullivan. PROCEEDS from the sale of a book on the old Blennerville school and community, were donated to the new school on Thursday afternoon.

The book, ‘Blennerville National School And Community – A Story Worth Telling’ is a compilation of stories, photos and a history of the area which went on sale last November and ended up raising €3,000 for the school.

The committee decided to put the book together when construction of the new school began last year and they heard the old school was to be demolished. They realised there were some great stories to tell about the history of the old school and the part it played in the lives of the local community.

The publication was a massive success and the hard-working committee were delighted the book was able to help out the new school.
