Elderly Couple’s House Burgled By Two Women

GARDAI are investigating a case where an elderly couple were robbed by two women in the old Gallowsfield area.

It’s one of three burglaries over the past few days being investigated by Gardaí.

On Thursday, August 11, two women called to the house of the couple claiming to be collecting for charity. One of the women asked to use the bathroom and while she was upstairs, she went through the couple’s belongings and a sum of cash was taken.

Gardaí are asking people to be vigilant of these type of thefts and to look out for their elderly neighbours.

Gardaí are also investigating a burglary on the same day in the Blennerville area. Between 11.15am and 2pm, access to house was gained via a side entrance while the occupants were out.

There was money taken from the kitchen. If anyone saw anything suspicious in the Blennerville area around this time, please contact Tralee Garda Station on 066-7102300.

Over in Farranfore, the office of Kerry Agribusiness were ransacked on Thursday, August 11. From CCTV footage, three offenders were seen entering the building wearing gloves and masks. Nothing was taken in the break-in.

Gardaí are interested in a car which was parked on the main Farranfore to Firies road between 11.15pm on Wednesday and 12.25am on Thursday.
