The Ballymacelligott GAA Club AGM took place last Thursday night in the Ballymac GAA Club Meeting room. The following officers were elected for 2018:

Tom Herlihy was elected as Vice President of the Club.
The meeting opened with a minutes silence for all the deceased members of the club. Jer Lynch The Chairman of Ballymac GAA thanked everyone in the club for their hard work and dedication during the year.
He thanked all our sponsors and everyone in the parish who support us in so many ways during the year. The local support from individuals and business was very much appreciated by everyone involved in Ballymac GAA.
He thanked all our players, trainers, mentors and gave special mention to our outgoing senior trainer Paud O’Donoghue and his selectors: Tom Shea, Sean Brosnan, and Denis O’Connor. He congratulated our senior team on promotion to Division 2 in the Senior County Football League for 2018.
On behalf of the club, he congratulated Fionnán Fitzgerald on his election as Assistant Secretary of Kerry County Board. He thanked Fionnán for his work on behalf of the club and wished him every success in his new role.
Jer made a presentation to Mike Sweeney on his retirement from teaching at O’Brennan National School. Mike is retiring after 36 years teaching.
Mike encouraged many a young player to pick up a football for the first time and many went on to have long successful careers with Ballymac GAA as players and administrators. His legacy can be seen in every aspect of the club. The club wishes him a long and happy retirement from his teaching job.
Jer closed the meeting extending the clubs deepest sympathies to anyone who lost a loved one over the past year and wished anyone who is sick in our parish a speedy recovery.
Congratulations to Brian Lonergan
Ballymac GAA wishes to congratulate Brian Lonergan on the presentation of his All Ireland Minor Medal and Tomás O’Connor on the presentation of his U21 All Ireland Hurling medal at a special awards night held by Kerry County Board in the Rose Hotel night held last Saturday night.
Ballymac Strictly Love Dancing 2018
Its our favourite time of year again in Ballymac when our talented and hardworking dancers take to the floor and dance their hearts out for the chance to be crowned winners in the 2018 Strictly Come Dancing.
The dancers rehearsals are well underway and this year promises to be even more entertaining.
This ever successful event will take place on Feb 3rd in The Ballygarry Hotel and tickets will be available very soon.
