INTER-COUNTY : Brendan O’Leary and James O’Connor were part of the Kerry team that defeated Laois in their 2nd game of the Joe McDonagh Cup last Sunday afternoon in Austin Stacks Park. Final Score : Laois 3-20 Kerry 0-19. Next up is Westmeath, next Sunday(20th) @ 3.00pm in Austin Stacks Park. Jack Parker and Jack Seehan represented the club on the Kerry U17 team that defeated Cork West in Round 2 of the Celtic Challenge Hurling Competition played last Wednesday evening on a scoreline of Kerry 3-14 West Cork 1-13. They will play Clare Saffrons in Round 3 this Wednesday (16th) evening in Knockaderry @ 7.30pm. Kerry U16s travelled to Clare recently to take part in a Munster Blitz. Kerry had two games, first up was Tipperary which ended in a draw, 3-07 to 2-10. Their second game was against Limerick which Kerry won 4-14 to 1 9 and because Kerry finished with a better score difference, they were the competition winners. Ruairí Donovan represented the club on the team.

CÚL CAMPS : Hurling Cúl Camp will take place in Abbeydorney from 23rd to 27th July. Cost is €60 per child with with reductions for additional members of families. Open to primary school children, boys and girls between 6 and 13 years of age. Monday’s to Friday’s, 10.00a.m. – 2.30p.m. daily. Further details at www.kelloggsculcamps.gaa.ie.

U8 Team that won all their games at Blitz in Crotta last Thursday evening.

U6/U8 : Our U8s had their first blitz of the season last Thursday evening in Dromakee where they played Crotta O’Neills and Ballyheigue defeating both teams. Well Done to all the players and coaches. Next blitz is this Friday (18th) in Lixnaw @ 6.30pm. Our U6 team have their first game at home on Sunday morning @ 11.00am.

U10 Team that defeated Causeway

U10 : Our U10 team played Causeway last Tuesday, 8th May in Causeway and came away with a gret victory. Great skill on display by this young team. Team : David Buckley, Josh Peevers, Liam Maunsell, Ciarán Skinner, Tadhg Hegarty, Adam Hogan, Rian Walsh, Daniel Nolan, Nathan Cunningham, Matt Griffin, Tom Slattery, Aaron Donovan, Patrick Murphy, Sean O’Connell, Fionn Lawlor, Jamie Cunningham. Well Done boys. Next game is this Sunday(20th) morning against Kilmoyley in Abbeydorney @ 11.00am.

U12 Team that defeated Kenmare/Kilgarvan to reach Co. League Final

U12 : Well Done to your U12 team who secured a place in the Co. League Final after an impressive 11 point victory over Kenmare/Kilgarvan last Friday evening in Abbeydorney.  Team : Tadhg Hegarty, Rian Walsh, Matt Griffin, Tomás Walsh, Sonny Ryall, Ruairí Ó hAiniféin, Iarla Ó hAiniféin, Darragh Cunningham, Jack Costello, Jody Charles, Cian Mangan, Adam Hogan, Bobby Fitzpatrick, Jason Brosnan, Luke Fitzmaurice, Daniel Nolan, Cian Lynch, John Murphy. We wish a speedy recovery to Ciarán Skinner. The Co. League Final against Rathmore takes place this Friday evening @ 7.00pm in Abbeydorney. Best of luck to the team and management. Please come out and support the team.

U14 : We played Ballyheigue last Saturday evening in Ballyhigue in the County League and while we were defeated, the scroreline does not reflect the effort put in by our boys. It was a much improved performance and they fought hard throughout the game. Final Score : Ballyheigue 3-08 Abbeydorney 0-06. Next round of the Co. League takes place this Saturday evening @ 6.00pm in Abbeydorney against Crotta O’Neills. The Club’s Féile Skills competition takes place this Mon(14th) evening @ 7.30pm to determine who will go forward to represent the club at the Co. Féile Skills competition which takes place Thurs, 17th May @ 6.00pm in John Mitchel’s GAA Complex.

U16 : Our U16 team played Ballyheigue in the Co. League semi-final last Thursday evening in Ballyheigue. Ballyheigue were the stronger team on the night despite the great effort put in by our boys particularly in the second half. Final Score : Ballyheigue 0-17 Abbeydorney 0-09. Team : Peter Hinchliffe, Michael O’Sullivan, Mikey Clifford, Breandáin Walsh, Gavin Slattery, Mathew Burke, Gearoid Quilter, Oisin Maunsell, Sean Murphy, Darragh O’Connell, Jack Sheehan, Jedd Maunsell, Ruairí Donovan, Jack Hannon, Jack O’Sullivan.

SENIORS : The North Kerry Hurling League Final between Abbeydorney and Ballyheigue is scheduled to take place this Friday evening (18th) @ 7.30pm at a venue to be confirmed. Round 6 of the Co. League -v- St. Brendan’s Ardfert, take place this Sunday, 20th @ 6.30pm in Abbeydorney.

SCHOOLS : Congratulations to club players, George Patton, Sam Griffin, Louie Ryall, Jamie Stack and Calum O’Sullivan who were part of the Mercy Mounthawk Secondary School Hurling team that made history in winning the Munster U15 Schools Title for the first time.

COMMUNION : Congratulations to all our young hurlers who made their Holy Communion last Saturday morning in St. Bernard’s Church, Abbeydorney. Hope you all had a wonderful day.
