Annual Walk To Remember Tony O’Donoghue

Una Lynch and Teresa O’Brien of 2 Beans In A Box launching the annual Tony ‘Todd’ O’Donoghue Memorial Walk.

THE annual Tony ‘Todd’ O’Donoghue Memorial Walk in aid of the Palliative Care Unit was launched yesterday by local business, 2Beans In A Box.

The walk will take place on Saturday, September 4 and due to current restrictions  organisers are asking that you walk with your own group .

It will run from 11am to 5pm and the route is from the back of the canal in to the back of Lohercannon and back to the 2Beans In A Box coffee station at the back of the windmill.

There will be a donation bucket at the 2 beans box behind the windmill and another in Skelper Quane’s later in the afternoon.

Anyone that signs in and gets a ticket or receives a medal on the day can then get a cup of coffee of their choice from the 2beans, who are sponsoring the event on the day.

This will be the 7th annual walk which was started by St Pats GAA club in 2014, the year club stalwart Todd died.

To date nearly €10,000 has been raised. Todd’s daughter Andrea says she is hugely grateful to everyone who has donated. and we are just giving back for the wonderful care and kindness that we received during Dad’s time there. Andrea also expressed thanks to Con Dennehy  who is sponsoring the medals.
