SENIOR FOOTBALL: The first of our three remaining rounds of the Co. League goes ahead in Connolly Park on next Saturday evening (14th July) with a visit from Listowel Emmets for a 7.30pm start. After that we play two of the other teams who, along with ourselves, are battling for promotion – Na Gaeil away on w/e 29th July and Castleisland Desmonds at home, provisionally fixed for the w/e of 19th August.

In the meantime we wish Kerry (including our own Kieran Donaghy and Ronan Shanahan) the best of luck as they commence the first of their three Super-Eight games in Croke Park next Sunday (15th July) at 4pm. Their other two games will be away to Monaghan on the following week-end and at home (Fitzgerald Stadium) to Kildare on the August Bank Holiday week-end.

B FOOTBALL: Our B team are due to travel to Lispole also on Saturday evening to play Dingle in the semi final of the Co. League (Div 5) Shield. Throw is also at 7.30pm.  Rathmore play Tuosist in the other semi final.

And after this our B team go straight into the Junior Town League which commences on Wednesday next (18th July) and continues for the four consecutive Wednesdays. Our five round games are as follows – away to Ballymac (18th July), at home to John Mitchels (25th July, away to Na Gaeil (1st Aug), at home to Ardfert (8th Aug) and away to Kerins O’Rahillys (15th Aug). The starting time for all five rounds is 7.30pm.

The top four teams qualify for the semi finals – 1st play 4th and 2nd play 3rd with 1st and 2nd having home venues. The final will then be played at a neutral venue. Date for the semi finals and final have yet to be fixed.

HURLING: After a series of fixtures mishaps we now hope that it will be plain sailing from now on with our remaining games in the South Kerry League which have been scheduled for the next three Wednesdays –  away to St. Pats on this Wednesday (11th July) and then two games against Duagh on the following two Wednesdays – at home on July 18th and away on July 25th. Throw in at 8pm each evening.

MINOR FOOTBALL: Austin Stacks 6-13; Feale Rangers 1-6.

A very solid performance by our lads on a scorching hot Tuesday evening (3rd July) in Connolly Park almost assured us of a place in the quarter finals of this seasons MF Co. Championship. We have now played our two games in the round robin series and we have one win along with Laune Rangers. The Laune will now play the Feale in the final round robin game on this Tuesday evening (10th July) and if the Killorglin boys win then they and ourselves will go through to the quarters. In last Tuesday’s game we led by 2-6 to 0-2 at half time and with ten minutes of the game remaining we led by 6-13 to 0-2. In the final 10 minutes the North Kerry boys added 1-4 to their total while holding us scoreless.
