SENIOR FOOTBALL: We were due to begin our season yesterday (27th Jan) but our Town League game against Na Gaeil was not played. So our first outing of the season is fixed for next Sunday (3rd Feb) with an away game against John Mitchels in round 2 of the Town League. Throw-in at 2.30pm

JUNIOR FOOTBALL: We have to go back to 2008 to find the Junior Town League going ahead before the Co. League. But that’s what’s happening this season with the Town League due to commence on next Sunday.  We have three rounds and a final, if we qualify, to play. In round 1 we have a home game against Kerins O’Rahillys on next Sunday (3rd Feb) at 12.30pm. We are away then in rounds 2 and 3 – against John Mitchels (17th Feb) and Na Gaeil (24th Feb). The top two teams will qualify for the final on a date yet to be confirmed.

MINOR FOOTBALL: Dates have also been confirmed for the Minor Town League. Like our Juniors we have three rounds to play – one at home and two away with the top two teams qualifying for the final. We play Na Gaeil in Connolly Park on next Sunday (3rd Feb) at 3pm in round 1 of the competition. Then we are away to Kerins O’Rahillys on the following Saturday (9thFeb) and away to Na Gaeil on Saturday, 23rd Feb. The date for the Final is yet to be confirmed.

The Co. League is due to commence on Saturday, 16th Feb. Fixtures for this have yet to be notified to Clubs.

SCÓR NA SINSEAR: Brian Caball informs us that the Tralee final of Senior Scór (17 years of age or older on 1-1-’19) has been scheduled for Na Gaeil clubhouse on this Thursday (31st) night at 8.30pm. The county finals will be held in the Marian Hall, Moyvane, on Friday February 8th, starting at 7pm. The Munster semi-finals will take place on Saturday February 23rd in the Community Centre, Ovens, County Cork. The Munster finals will be on Saturday March 2nd in Cork’s City Hall. The All-Ireland finals will be held in the ‘Travellers’ Friend’ Theatre, Castlebar, County Mayo, on Saturday April 13th.

The date and venue for the Co. Quiz Final has yet to be fixed. The Rock has still time to organised a four person quiz team for this event. Anyone interested in forming a team should let us know.

LAST MAN STANDING: We had a tremendous response in the final two days to our first fundraiser of the year with s final total of 308 players in the game in the end. This represents €2,500 odd profit for the club which is very welcome to new Treasurer Nial Shanahan.

Thanks to everyone who has supported this fundraiser and special mention & thanks  to our  Juvenile Chairman, Tim Mc Mahon, who organised and oversaw all the entries and who has, and will produce the competition up-dates over the next number of weeks – Good Luck everyone!
