SEASON’S GREETINGS: Club Chairman, Billy Ryle extends season’s greetings to Rock people at home and abroad. Wishing a very happy Christmas to club members and supporters everywhere. Sincere thanks to everybody, who served Austin Stacks in any capacity during the year as administrators, team officials, volunteers and players. The Club is eagerly looking forward to 2021 and the resumption of activity on the playing field.
Members can play an important part in the ongoing development and successes of the club at all levels by taking on an active role in administration and team mentoring at whatever level they feel comfortable.
Billy is encouraging all members to participate in the Austin Stack Club Annual General Meeting which goes ahead virtually on 13th January. Nominations for all positions on the Club Executive Committee will be accepted up to and including Thursday, 24th December.
Please stay safe and well during the holiday period and continue to comply fully with the NPHET and GAA health guidelines as all Austin Stack Club members have done so diligently during this difficult year of coronavirus.

LADIES CLUB DRAW: The Austin Stacks Ladies Club Christmas Draw took place last Saturday.  The draw was very well supported by all sections of the Austin Stacks Club and the ladies were delighted and very appreciative of the support.  Special thanks to Eileen Nagle for her help in setting up the online draw and to the businesses who donated very generous spot prizes. See this week’s  ladies club notes for winners details.

KERRY MINORS: Well done to the Kerry Minors on their brilliant win over a super Cork side in last week’s Munster MF semi final in Austin Stack Park. Three of our panel (of seven) were on the starting 15 – Joey Nagle, Armin Heinrich and Conor Horan, with Jordan Kissane and Shane Bastible coming off the bench during the second half of normal time. Ben Quilter, the team’s sub keeper, didn’t get a run and Dean Rusk was on the extended panel. Level at the end of normal time (0-15 to 1-12) that was still the case at half time in extra time (). But when Jordan Kissane pointed in the 4th minute of additional time to put us back in the lead we went on then to take complete control of the game and ended up with a three points winning margin (0-21 – 1-15).
Best of luck to the boys as they take on Clare in this Tuesday evening’s Munster Final in Limerick’s Gaelic Grounds. Throw-in at 7pm. Live Streaming from Spórt TG4 You Tube.

THE ALL IRELAND FINAL: There is no stopping the Dubs – winning their sixth title in a row to bring their total number of wins to 30. Both themselves and Kerry (still heading the Roll of Honours with 37 wins) have now 67 titles between them and that has just eclipsed the combined number of titles of 66 won by all other counties. Last Saturday’s final was the 133rd final contested since the first final of 1887 (played on 29th April 1888).
