SENIOR FOOTBALL: The Tralee/St Brendan’s District Senior Championship Final sponsored by Lee Strand, between ourselves and Ballymac, is scheduled to go ahead in Austin Stack Park on this Saturday evening (3rd Dec) at 6.30pm with extra time if required.

SYMPATHY: There was shock and sadness in the Rock and elsewhere on last Friday week (18th Nov) when news broke of the untimely passing of Dolores O’Connor (nee Kelly), wife of Aidan and co-proprietor of The Greyhound Bar. Dolores was in the UK when she took suddenly ill and passed away peacefully. We offer sincere sympathy to Aidan, her sons and daughters Tommy, Sonya, Mark, Yvonne, Aideen and Lily, to her sisters Ann, Margaret, Martha, Elizabeth and Rosemary, and to all her extended family and friends, both here and in her native Dromiskin (Co. Louth), at this sad time.

Sincere sympathy is also offered to the families of the following who died recently: Sabrina O’Mahony, Shanakill (sister of former Club Footballer, Stephen); Tom Lynch. Kerins Park and formerly Lohercannon; Joan Steinborn (nee Talbot), Lisbeg, Oakpark and formerly Laharn; Mary Coffey (nee Keane), Castlecountess; Christina O’Connell (nee O’Mahony), Doon South and formerly Ballymacelligott (mother of Club member, Morgan and grandmother of current Club Footballers Liam and Maria); and Lynda O’Connor (nee Roche), Monalee, Monavalley and formerly Currow Village.

EDEL O’SULLIVAN. Sister of our Club Footballers, Nicola, Brendan and Paul, Edel has been undergoing treatment in London over the past few months and faces a long road to recovery which will require substantial financial support and rehab. The family have set up a ‘Go Fund Me Page’ and would be very appreciative of our support. Here is the link to read Edel’s story and make a donation – https://www.gofundme.com/f/Edelosullivan-Road-to-Recovery?fbclid=IwAR3NF7Eh2mojctzOrY2bShzA3TPOt4f3rHIygTqHj6zWOdrOzo6egIOp2rQ.

ALL IRELAND MEDALS PRESENTATION: The Kerry Panel of Players who were part of this season’s All Ireland SF winning squad were presented with their winning medals at a ceremony last Friday night (25th Nov) with four of our players among the recipients. Well done again to Dylan Casey, Greg Horan, Jack O’Shea and team captain Joseph O’Connor. This brings our record winning All Ireland SF medals in the Club to 96 won by 34 players. And it all began almost a century ago when six of our players were on the 1924 winning team – Joe Barrett, Jackie Ryan, Jimmy Baily, Denis Rory O’Connell, Bill Landers and Jerry Pluggy Moriarty.

MUNSTER CLUB CHAMPIONSHIP: Well done to Kerins O’Rahillys on their Munster SF semi final win over Clare’s Éire Óg last Sunday. We wish them the best of luck as they take on Limerick’s Newcastle West in the Munster Final on next Saturday week (10th Dec). Both sides will be seeking their first Provincial title in the 52nd season of the competition.
