Austin Stacks CrestPEIL FAOI 6/8/10: We’ll have football on Sunday at 11am in Caherslee and even better football on Thursday.

PEIL FAOI 12: Our Under 12s (Divisions 1A & 1B) will be at home v Ballymac at 7pm on Sunday next (14th) and will be away v Ardfert on Sunday 21st at 7pm. Good luck, lads!

PEIL FAOI 14: Well done to our stars who played An Ghaeltacht in the Under 14 FINAL on Monday last (8th) in Castlegregory. Panel: Daniel Breen, Ruairí O’Connell, Greg Scanlon, Connor Kavanagh, Evan Foley, Ben Quilter, Niall Fitzmaurice, Armin Heinrich, Mervyn Shalemba, Conor Horan, Owen Healy, Liam Tobin, James Fernane, Cian Purcell, Shane Bastible, Luke Chester, Joey Nagle, Peter Kearns, Adam Curran, Jordan Kissane. An Charraig go deo!

PEIL FAOI 16A: (i) Our last game in the Lee Strand County League (Division 1) v Emmets resulted in a comfortable win but not without being pushed hard for long periods by the Lios Tuathail team. Scór- AdeS: 6-16; Emmets: 3-3. Once again, we saw that the whole panel was vitally important as fresh legs were ready at all times to contribute when needed. We had six different goal scorers, viz, Pádraic Linnane, Gearóid Fitzgerald, David Couchman, Joe Looby, Mike Slattery and Gearóid Sheehan whose left-footed rocket was the pick of the bunch. The D-Man, David Oba, saved a penalty as Emmets applied great pressure.

(ii) The deferred Round 4 game v Laune Rangers went ahead in Killorglin on Monday 8th.

(iii) Our final game will be played in Páirc na mBan Rialta v Legion on Wednesday (10th). One victory from these games should be enough to get a home semi-final on Wednesday 17th.

PEIL FAOI 16B: (i) After Dr Crokes conceded victory to us in the Lee Strand Under 16 County Football League (Roinn 8), our B team faced the might of Foilmore/Valentia/Skellig Rangers, a team that was unbeaten in the league but came very close to losing its record in a wintery Connolly Park.

We produced a brilliant team performance but, after getting to within a point of our rivals with minutes remaining, the South Kerry boys downed us with two late goals and they were 0-5 ahead ag séideadh deireanach na feadóige móire! Garry Clifford was unstoppable in the number 14 role and spent the hour tormenting the South Kerry defence.

Conor Myers, mar ba ghnách, was ‘deadly’ (with both feet) from play and from frees. Indeed, the Southerners could never relax! It was great to see Andrew Breen rattle the net; he’s had a season of unfortunate injuries! Jack McGrath also was magnificent in a number of positions from full-back to wing forward. We note, however, that our boys have really gelled since the league started and some lads even experienced action with the A squad! Scór- AdeS: 3-11; Filemore/Valentia/Skellig: 7-4.

(ii) We played Currow (as baile) on Thursday 11th. (iii) It is expected that our semi-final will take place on Wednesday 17th! Best wishes, boys!

KERRY v MAYO: ‘Well done’ to the Kerry Juniors and to our own Michael O’Donnell who only ‘yesterday’ was in our juvenile panels! Éacht, a Mhíchíl! Bonn Óir Uile-Éireann eile ar an gCarraig!
